A Palette of Play

20th March 2026

In our Crèche class, play is the heartbeat of our day. We believe our youngest learners thrive when they explore the world through hands-on experiences that feel natural and meaningful. Recently, our classroom has been transformed into a vibrant world of fruits and colours.

During free play, children are often found sorting "harvests" by colour, a simple game that builds the foundation for mathematical thinking and problem-solving. In our role-play corner, mini-chefs "prepare" fruit salads, practicing the art of sharing and conversation.

Sensory play has been the star of the week. From the bumpy skin of an orange to the cool smoothness of a grape, the children have been investigating real fruits with all five senses. These moments don't just spark curiosity; they build the descriptive vocabulary needed for lifelong communication.

Through painting, song, and storytelling, it is clear that for our Crèche learners, play isn't a break from learning, it is the learning. We are so proud of the wonder and confidence they bring to school every day.
