What better way to begin our week than a trip to the farm?
There was great excitement in the air as FS1 and FS2 prepared for a trip to meet a range of different farm animals.
The highlight of the day was definitely getting a ride on the donkey (for those who were brave enough…). Children walked across the school field up to Cape Chestnut, although they were all very relieved to be treated to a bus ride back!
Early Years have been exploring ‘Transport’ as their theme this week and it has been amazing to hear how much existing information the children have and how much they have picked up. They enjoyed naming a range of different modes of transport and talking about their favourite ways of getting around.
The children were able to describe a wide range of differences in transport from across the World; they had an interesting conversation about whether a motorbike is the same as a motorcycle - what do you think?
As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one week, Early Years were lucky enough to be gifted a new pet, Mr Turkey!
This has increased the buzz around the pet area, as the children have been keen to check on the new arrival. We are all delighted that the existing turkey now has a pal.
