In FS2, we are thrilled to embark on an exciting journey centred on the theme: ‘All About Me’ to foster a stronger sense of identity, build connections, and promote social and emotional development. The children have begun to express their feelings, thoughts, and experiences. Through various activities such as self-portraits, family trees, and sharing personal stories, the children will explore who they are and where they come from. We had some exciting moments from our FS2 children, where our young explorers delved into the world of continents and mountains during their playtime in the sandpit. Some were able to tell which continent they live in or the oceans familiar to them.
We have had amazing ‘Show and Tell’ opportunities this week. Engaging in discussions about themselves, their families, and their experiences provided an excellent opportunity for the children to develop their language and communication skills. The children are learning to express themselves clearly, listen to others, and ask questions.
We encourage children to share their interests, hobbies, and family traditions. This helps build connections with their peers as they discover shared interests and experiences. We believe that these early friendships play a vital role in your child's social development. The FS2 children have been thrilled to join new clubs and continue with some old ones.
During our Water Play this week, the FS2 children took pride in washing the baby dolls. You could see some replication of what they have observed at home or elsewhere.
Throughout this unit, we invite you to share stories, traditions, and cultural aspects of your family's heritage. This not only enriches the learning experience but also strengthens the bond between home and school.
