All Change

4th September 2021

There have been a few changes around school over the last couple of months!

First there was the excitement of the Solar Panels being installed in Early Years last term. Then, over the holidays, their playground equipment moved into their central area and was enhanced with the steering-wheel from the old school bus (which sadly moved into retirement over the holidays). Creche classroom has received a new floor and our delivery of new resources included number of new bikes and trikes. There is a lot to keep our youngest children excited and active.

Our move to two streams in Primary has meant some re-jigging of the classroom layouts and provided Mrs Gould with some great brain gym over the holidays! The Year 4 and 5 blocks now feature two classrooms which are joined together by an internal door. This has been great for teachers to be able to plan activities for the whole year group, as well as for subject lessons and break-out groups. We have had to temporarily relocate the library into one of our smaller, shared spaces to enable the Years 6-8 children to have the three classrooms they need. It is small but perfect for now and will get rehomed again when our next classroom block is built - watch the school field for upcoming action!

Braeburn’s gardeners are another group who have been kept busy over the break: our grounds have had a make-over, bringing extra light into many of our classrooms through the lowering of bushes and ensuring that everywhere is looking well-kempt and nicely manicured. They have also created a 'tyre park' area (which we hope to continue growing) behind Year 3 to add to playtime activities.

Fences and woodwork around the school has been sanded and re-treated which has given everywhere a lift and sense of freshness. This is especially so in the heart of the school where a second flag pole and beautiful new hall floor have smartened the area.

It was non-stop over the long holidays with everyone working incredibly hard to perfect their work and get everything finished! We extend our thanks to the Braeburn Workshop team who invested a huge amount of time and resources to us over the break.
