Annual BNIS Cross Country

On 11th May 2024, BNIS proudly hosted the Annual KAISSO Cross Country event, welcoming five schools from Nairobi and the Tambuzi team as guest runners. Despite initial weather concerns due to constant rains, our dedicated team ensured the event's success. The venue this year was at Turaco Farm, a splendid farm with a breathtaking view of Mt Kenya.
BNIS participants from Year 3 to Year 8 showcased their hard work and dedication, ultimately securing a commendable 4th place, just one-point shy of 3rd place. Three of our children achieved podium finishes, with special recognition to Harry from Year 3 for his outstanding performance.
The morning weather was on our side, with schools arriving at 8am. After registration and settling in, the event kicked off promptly at 9 am with the U9 boys' race. Throughout the day, vibrant cheers from motivated spectators filled the air as participants traversed terrains, passed pig paddocks, and ran past large greenhouses producing beautiful roses.
The event epitomised positive spirit and sportsmanship. The BNIS team will continue training in preparation for the Turi tournament on the 12th June. Congratulations to our running team, BNIS staff, and supportive parents for making the event a success.
