BNIS Community

2nd September 2023

After a busy week of staff training and organising classrooms, last Friday we ended on a high for our teaching staff… quite literally. As part of our staff team building we visited The Mt Kenya Climbing Gym, we challenged our teachers to scale the climbing wall and have a go at bouldering. This tested teachers' resilience and it reminded them what it was like to turn their hand to something new! The teachers rallied round one another, cheering and singing on all those brave enough to face the wall! Can you guess who was the loudest cheer leader? We’ll give you a clue… she likes languages!

Whilst there, teachers grabbed a bite from the delicious Bara Burritos who have an excellent cafe located on site (and also one at Downtown). Many of our children enjoy the climbing wall already and we hope even more will join the weekly climbing club this term or visit with family at the weekend and during holidays.

On Monday we were delighted to welcome over 30 new families to BNIS. It was a brilliant chance for the children to get familiar with our school grounds, meet their teachers and most importantly to get a head start making friends with their new peers!

As well as the children getting well acquainted the parents had an informative talk from Mrs Gould and enjoyed the opportunity to meet fellow parents. The event was hugely successful and really encapsulated the community spirit of BNIS.
