BNIS World Book Day

6th May 2022

Saturday 23rd April was the UNESCO World Book Day and after wading through seemingly endless national holidays, BNIS were finally able to celebrate last Friday.

As ever, staff and students alike did themselves proud, crafting their own re-imaginings of some of the most loved book characters. There were Mr Men, Harry Potters, a whole cast of David Walliams characters and everything in between.

The day was enormous fun for everyone and children were treated to fun book related activities throughout the day. A book hunt saw everyone from Early Years to Year 8 get their thinking caps on as they worked in groups to solve riddles and clues to the titles of different books, and a tour of the school gave the perfect opportunity to take in the beautiful door decorations that classes have been working on in secret since coming back to school after Easter.

Wonderfully, the Year 8 Junior Leadership Team suggested that we use the day as an opportunity to collect books to be donated to a local cause, so be sure to check the newsletter to see where our Charity reps decide to donate to.
