As part of Braeburn History Week, Year 6 children embarked on a memorable journey into the past. The Braeburn group, which has been shaping young minds for over 40 years, has a rich history worth exploring.
The highlight of the week was a short but meaningful trip across the school field to the original site where Braeburn Nanyuki began its journey in 2008.
Guided by one of the founding teachers, Mr. Mulongo, the pupils had the unique opportunity to hear first-hand accounts of the school's early days. They asked insightful questions, learning about the challenges and triumphs of the fledgling school and gaining a new appreciation for how far it has come.
In class, the children brought history to life by crafting diary entries as if they were pupils in 2008. Their imaginative writing vividly captured the simplicity and spirit of the school’s early days, offering a creative glimpse into the past.
This experience not only deepened their connection to their school but also emphasised the importance of preserving and celebrating history. As the Braeburn family continues to grow and thrive, it's moments like these that remind us of the strong roots that anchor our journey.
