Bend it like Beckham

5th October 2022

This past weekend, BNIS held the KAISSO Under 13 Football Tournament that hosted players from an array of schools that included Braeside, Braeburn Gitanga Road, Braeburn Garden Estate, Greensteds, St. Christopher's and Braeburn Imani.

The children from some of the other schools camped on the BNIS fields in tents to make sure that they were ready for their matches the next day. The girls and boys were fierce on the field, competing with other children that were over a foot taller and bigger than them. However, this did not stop them from going for the ball and either trying to score a goal for their team or defending their goal. Size does not always matter! The determination and perseverance of our children was phenomenal. Everyone who took part should be proud.

Both the BNIS boys and girls team did us proud and came in 3rd and 4th positions respectively after battling it out bravely and confidently against the visiting schools. They deserve a great cheer for their hard work!

In addition, Lewis and Isla were both recognised and presented with a Sportsmanship Award as they displayed respect, positive attitudes and provided support to their teammates and their opponents as well. Congratulations to both of them as they made us proud!
