Celebrating Books!

5th March 2021

On Thursday, 4th March, BNIS celebrated World Book Day. Students, teachers and staff all came dressed as book characters. The creative, homemade costumes were fantastic. We had Dog Man, Mrs Twit and the multiple Harry Potters, just to name a few.

Students also worked together with their classmates to decorate their classroom doors based on a book. The colourful doors represented a variety of books, including Tell Me a Dragon, Charlotte's Web and The Bolds. We held a school vote on Thursday to see which door students liked best and the winner was Year 5 with their Tale of Despereaux door, complete with a live mouse! Second place went to Year 4 (Stinkbomb and Ketchupface and the Badness of Badgers) and third place went to Year 1 (Superworm).

During the day, students celebrated books with a variety of activities. They participated in a book hunt, racing to find all 10 book covers hidden around the big field. They also played a Guess the Book Selfie game and then enjoyed other book-themed activities in their English classes. It was a great day!
