Celebrating Craftsmanship and History

Shields were a vital part of the Anglo-Saxons' battle gear, serving as their main line of defence. Inspired by this historical significance, our Year 5 children created their own Anglo-Saxon shields and spears out of cardboard.

They began by carefully sketching their designs, using historical references to make their replicas as authentic as possible. This project also challenged them to hone their cutting skills, and it’s exciting to see how their precision has improved with each piece.

As we conclude our Anglo-Saxon unit, we’re excited to invite you to our Family Assembly on November 22nd at 9 a.m. Come join us to see the students’ hard work and hear all about their journey through history!
