Checkmate! The BNIS Inter-House Chess Tournament

6th September 2025

On Wednesday afternoon, representatives from the Houses of Chui, Duma and Simba took part in our Inter-House chess tournament. Each player competed in three matches against opponents from their own year group, earning valuable House Points along the way.

The afternoon was filled with concentration, excitement, and plenty of fun. We had some very close contests, especially among our top players. Tito dominated the Years 7–8 competition, while chess whiz Norman impressed with a strong run of wins in Years 5–6.

But the tournament was about more than just winning. It was a chance to share a learning experience, enjoy friendly competition, and celebrate the skills of our players across the school. Events like these help to strengthen our community spirit and bring the Houses together.

Well done to everyone who took part - we can’t wait to see more Inter-House events later this year!
