Chords of Joy

On Thursday 6th November 2025, a group of 13 excited students set off for Brookhouse for the annual Senior Prep Choir Festival. This Festival is noncompetitive but gives the children a chance to learn from each other, not only about performance, but also about the variety of song styles that they can present.
The presentations from each school were done in two sections, with a break in between. Our first presentation was “Peace Train’ a song written by Cat Stevens in 1971. Our second item was ‘I can see clearly now’ written by Johnny Nash in 1972. Both songs were well received, and ‘Peace Train’ was played right at the very end, to close the event!
The final performance was a communal song, where all the children sung ‘Here Comes the Sun’, a song which had not been rehearsed, and it was a pleasure to see the musical expertise of the children coming to the fore in learning a song within a few minutes!
All in all, the children enjoyed themselves tremendously and came away with ideas for their next performances.
