Citrus Day

12th February 2021

On Friday 12th February 2021 we held a citrus themed non-uniform day to raise funds. Each child made a charitable donation to allow them to wear no uniform for the day. The fundraiser was our way of showing support for the fight against cancer, following World Cancer Day last week. We chose a citrus theme because citrus fruits are believed to be a food that can help prevent cancer, as well as a support to the immune system for those receiving cancer treatment. This year's fundraiser has been particularly pertinent to the BNIS community this year.

We have raised at least 26,000ksh but know we have not yet received all donations. The final amount will be shared when everything is received and gathered together. Our Head Boy (Clive) and Head Girl (Lali) will work with our parent volunteer group (FANs) to identify a cancer based charity to donate the funds to. More details of this will be shared at a future date.

Thank you to everyone for the generous donations.

The children in year 5 took the whole event a step further by creating their own tie-dyed t-shirts during the week.
