Delightful FANs Family Fun Friday

23rd March 2024

This Friday, families gathered for a delightful event filled with fun, games, and fantastic finds. Family Fun Friday, a term’s tradition, surpassed expectations this year with a wide array of activities and offerings that brought smiles to everyone's faces.

The highlight of the event was the mini market stands, where local vendors and creative enthusiasts showcased their goods. From beautifully crafted candles to freshly baked sourdough, charming ornamentals to the finest honey, there was something for everyone to enjoy and take home as a memento of the day. The Nanyuki Palliative Care stand offered a wide range of items including toys and clothes at various price points to suit every budget. The smoked biltong was a delightful taste and we look forward to enjoying it at future events.

Adding practicality to the event was the old and new uniform sale, giving families the opportunity to update their school attire while supporting sustainability by buying pre loved uniform items.

The Scouts stall at the event impressed everyone with their fresh vegetables from the school veggie patch and home-carved soap. They exceeded their profit goals, which they were all very pleased with.

Events like these offer book lovers a chance to enrich their collections with texts that provide depth, insight, and inspiration. Each new book becomes a portal to different worlds and perspectives, reflecting personal interests and aspirations. The travelling book stand made this possible for all the shoppers who visited and perused through the numerous books on display.

Children were kept entertained throughout the day with a range of classic games and activities. The bouncing castle attracted endless laughter and energy, while the timeless charm of "pin the tail on the donkey" brought out the competitive spirit in both young and old. The skittles game provided a perfect blend of skill and luck, keeping participants engaged and entertained. The face painting was a great hit, as was the hair braiding.

A special highlight of this year's Family Fun Friday was the return of the car boot sale after a 4-year hiatus. The excitement was palpable as families browsed through a treasure trove of pre-loved items, each with its own story and charm. It was a fantastic opportunity to find unique treasures.

Of course, no event is complete without delicious refreshments, and the FANs stand did not disappoint. Freshly baked pizzas, mouth watering cakes, and a refreshing Pimms that quickly became the crowd's favourite drink ensured that everyone stayed fuelled and satisfied throughout the day.
