22nd February 2024
In February 2024, BNIS children enthusiastically took part in two music festivals. At the Waldorf Music Festival, nineteen Year 1 and 2 children represented BNIS, delivering captivating performances despite a light rain shower. Alongside other schools, BNIS showcased their talent with renditions of traditional Kiswahili lullabies and collaborative performances, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere.
The festival featured additional musical acts, including flute and piano performances, contributing to the overall enjoyment of the event. BNIS expressed gratitude for the invitation and eagerly anticipated future opportunities to participate.
Not long after this event, Year 3 and 4 children embarked on an overnight trip to Braeside School, setting the stage for their participation in the Braeburn Vocal Festival at Gitanga Road the following day. The festival, although non-competitive, provided a platform for the BNIS choir to shine with spirited performances, and to form goals for future improvements such as incorporating harmony into their repertoire.
The event concluded with a lively collective performance, leaving BNIS students enriched with valuable learning experiences and eagerly looking forward to future musical endeavours.
