Egg-cellent Engineers

9th September 2021

Children in Year 4 have spent the first few weeks of the new year with some egg-citing investigations and challenges.

To put their design and engineering skills to the test, children were tasked with creating a spaghetti tower and patented egg safety device (™); they set out in small groups to have some fun and see if they were up to the task…

The children showed some fantastic teamwork skills, working together to come up with some very creative ideas. Despite breaking a few eggs in the process, they all had so much fun and by drawing on their prior knowledge from in-class learning, children have become experts in how to create a solid structure.

It took great determination and resilience to get there, but in the end, most of the children were able to accomplish their mission of egg protection.

Super work, Year 4! Just don’t go raiding the cupboards at home for eggs and spaghetti…

Keep scrolling to have a look at the Year 4s in action (and remember, don’t try this at home kids!)
