On the last day of term, the school was brimming with creativity, talent, and a strong sense of community spirit. The Entrepreneurship Market not only exhibited the inventive ideas of children, but also offered them valuable hands-on experience in the field of business and marketing. The stalls featured an array of charming items for sale, ranging from friendship bracelets, to jam, to upcycled clothes and freshly baked cookies and cakes.
Notably, the Year 4 students achieved substantial success by attaining the biggest profit margin of the day with their playdough kits. Well done Year 4!
During the fortnight prior, classes had been working with Ms Mogaka to learn festive songs. The performances of these songs were enjoyed by both the singers and the audience, and got everyone into the festive spirit!
The Braeburn's Got Talent final performances brought the excitement to its peak, featuring a variety of mesmerising acts from some of the school's most talented performers. We were treated to gymnastics performances by The Mustachteers and Eliza, a comedy act by Maddie and Archer, singing by The House Girls and a trivia show by Henry. Izzy's singing won over the crowd and she was voted the winner of BGT 2023 with her sensational rendition of Set Fire to the Rain.
Santa Claus and his elves surprised everyone when they arrived at the event in tinsel-decked safari car, accompanied by boda boda riders blasting festive tunes. Children were thrilled that Santa was able to make it to BNIS, and happy that he made a step towards a more environmentally friendly transport choice this year.
The event's inclusivity extended to delicious culinary delights, ranging from homemade treats to local specialties. The presence of food stalls prepared by the children and Cape Chestnut's offerings enhanced the overall experience, making the celebration well-rounded for everyone involved, setting the mood for the festive season.
