The entrepreneurial spirit is strong at Braeburn Nanyuki as our Year 6 children jump into the challenges and excitement of Entrepreneurs' Fortnight. With the big Market Day only a week away, creativity and hard work are everywhere. This fortnight is not just about selling items , it teaches the children important skills like coming up with ideas, planning money wisely, and advertising. The class has moved from simple ideas to full business plans, showing that every student has the potential to be a future entrepreneur.

This week has been very busy. The students started with brainstorming and came up with four great business ideas. They then split into groups, each working on a different product or activity. One group is creating refreshing mocktails, another is preparing tasty snack plates with breadsticks and vegetable sticks, a third group is setting up a fun cup-stacking game with prizes, and the last team is designing and advertising a small fidget toy. After choosing their products, all teams worked on financial planning, carefully checking all costs to decide on a selling price that would make a profit, a very important real-life skill.

The hard work continued with marketing. The Year 6 groups confidently presented their products to the whole school during a special assembly to build interest and attract customers. Next week will be even more exciting! The teams will need to get financial support from the “Bank of Gould” to buy their supplies and then prepare everything for Market Day.

We encourage all parents and other children to come and support them next Friday. It has been a busy, challenging, and most of all, enjoyable experience that is helping shape our future business leaders.
