It's been an exciting week here in Year 3 as we embarked on an artistic journey: crafting our very own Ancient Greek vases with paper mache. Inspired by the creativity of our Year 4 counterparts, who shared their successful vase-making experiences with us, we dove headfirst into this hands-on project with determination.
We began with the somewhat tricky task of blowing up balloons to create the base shape of our vases. Ensuring none of the balloons popped proved to be quite the challenge. Despite a few mishaps, we persevered and soon had a collection of securely inflated balloons, ready to be transformed into vases.
With our balloons ready, we set to work covering them with layers of moist newspaper. This messy process allowed us to mould and shape our vases, watching as they began to take form before our eyes.
Though we only managed to complete the first layer of newspaper this week, the anticipation for what's to come kept excitement levels at an all-time high. Look our for finished vases before the end of term!
