Football at BNIS has never been more exciting! The theme this term has been revolving around the upcoming 2022 Football World Cup that is recognised and adored by fans worldwide. Sports lessons have been met with enthusiasm and eagerness as children were grouped into teams and given the opportunity to select a country that they would be representing. Brazil, England, Portugal, France and Spain are but a few of the country favourites that have been selected and the teams aim to play to the best of their ability with the goal being to win the ‘The World Cup’ tournament after getting through the quarter finals, semi-finals and final.
In addition to developing their football skills, this activity helps the children understand the importance of unity, teamwork and pride that comes with working towards a common goal. It also sparks their interest in the game and gives them a feel of the upcoming World Cup, which the world will soon enjoy later this year. We know that each child will bring their best and congratulations to the winning ‘countries’ so far!
BNIS are currently preparing to host an under 13 football tournament. We are sure that the children will be blazing around the field, using the skills they have learned in Games to take on their competitors.
Physical Education has helped the children grow in their athletics skill as well as timing through fun and interactive activities. Agility, speed, reaction time and endurance have been the main focus, with lessons being a place for opportunities to set goals and aim to attain them. Kudos to everyone for pushing harder each week!
