We were proud to host eight schools for our annual U7 Mixed Football Festival on Friday. The aim was to give children the opportunity to play, enjoy themselves, and socialise in a positive, lightly competitive environment. At this age, match play is one of the most valuable ways for children to learn the game.
The festival was a great success! From the first whistle, the pitches were full of energy as players showed growing confidence on the ball, improving decision-making, and a clear enjoyment of playing with and against new teams. The emphasis throughout was on development - encouraging dribbling, trying different positions, and learning through real game situations.

Sportsmanship stood out across the morning. Players showed respect to referees and opponents, shook hands after matches, and supported one another throughout. Coaches helped create this environment by keeping their touchlines calm, positive, and supportive. Parents and spectators also played their part, providing enthusiastic encouragement while allowing the children to play freely.

At the U7 level, success is not measured by results. It is reflected in confidence gained, friendships formed, and a love for the game strengthened. By that measure, the festival was a real achievement.
Thank you to all the players, coaches, parents, staff, and volunteers who made the event possible. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for another celebration of football next year!
