KS 3 Maths

In Year 7 Maths, we are currently on our second topic of the term. We have completed Sequences and Graphs, where students learned about linear sequences, described these sequences and identified the term-to-term rule. We are now working with Algebra, understanding the notation to use and utilising function machines to identify and solve two-part equations.
In Year 8 Maths, we are also on our second topic of the term. We have completed Ratio and Proportion, where students solved problems involving direct and inverse proportion. This is one of the tougher topics and year 8 performed extremely well. We are now applying what we learned in this topic to graphs, specifically conversion and real life graphs. Mr. Elwell
