Learning Away From School

24th February 2023

As part of our learning, the Creche class went on a trip to the William Holden Education Centre. This has been a popular place for trips this term due to the abundance of learning that it offers. The day started off with a buzz of activities and excitement was written all over the children’s faces as they waited in anticipation to get onto the bus. Sun lotion on, check! Sun hats on, check! Lining up and off to the bus!

The journey started with a song on the bus, then a moment of calmness. “Can we all try and spot a goat or a cow or a sheep!” One teacher said, “I see a cow!” A child said. “How many cows did you see?” Let us try and guess.” “There are many,” another child said. The children enjoyed spotting and talking about different animals.

The children made themselves and their teachers proud as they all sat and listened to one of the staff from the Education Centre explain a few facts about the pictures in the learning hall. It was remarkable listening to the children answer questions and share their knowledge with everyone.

To crown it off, the children went for a walk around the forest. They enjoyed looking at the different tree species, spotting different bugs, walking along the river, looking at the word map and trying to guess where they were standing.

It was a wonderfully interesting way to learn and we look forward to our next Creche Trip!
