Sporting Lunches

2nd July 2021

The last half term of the year has seen the return of extra-curricular sport and the older children have thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to pull together the skills that they have been developing in lessons, into lunchtime matches of Netball and Tag Rugby each week. Current restrictions mean that all matches take place within individual class groups but our class sizes lend themselves perfectly to two teams.

It’s been absolutely fantastic to see the boys and girls challenge themselves to improve their competitive skills and accuracy in both of the sports. This has, of course, led to a healthy level of competition between classmates and it’s safe to say that everyone has enjoyed the chance to compete again!

As well as exhibiting their sporting prowess, the children have impressed their coaches with great sportsmanship; victories and losses have been acknowledged in good spirit and everyone has enjoyed celebrating the success of others, regardless of whose team they are on.

Mr Masafu, Mr Franco and Miss Serway have all loved the opportunity to get these matches going at lunchtimes and all agree that the skills and sportsmanship they have seen across the board look extremely promising for when we are able to start inter-school tournaments again in the future!
