Making a Big Splash

We are thrilled to announce that our children will be splashing about and making waves in a new pool location at Peaks Hotel for their swimming lessons. This change in location is expected to further enhance our children’s lessons as the facility boasts of heated pool water, a wading pool (ideal for Early Years) and a serene environment.

We will continue to uphold Safeguarding concerns in the new location and the necessary risk assessments have been undertaken to ensure a smooth transition for the lessons. This week, children have made a site visit to the new pool for an orientation session to familiarise themselves with the new facility before they begin their practical swimming lessons next week. From the changing rooms, waiting bays, pool depths and pool rules, children have been made aware of what is expected this term.

The features of the pool gives us an exciting opportunity to further build the confidence of the Early Years children in the wading pool that is ideal for their age before they transition to the shallow end once they have progressed in their skill development. The deep end is sufficient for our more competent swimmers with adequate space to work on their stroke efficiency and lifesaving skills.

The water will also be at a constant temperature of 26 degrees Celsius to beat the cold and chilly days and the swimming teachers and pool management staff will work together so that the water is always conducive for the children to learn. With all this in place, we look forward to accelerated swimming attendance and an exciting and happy learning experience in the new pool.
