The wait is finally over! This week, Braeburn Nanyuki International School marked a historic milestone with the official opening of our long-awaited swimming pool. The facility was inaugurated with our first-ever Swimming Gala, an incredible two-day event that was nothing short of spectacular.

The festivities began on Tuesday, featuring students from Year 2 to Year 8. The event was a true celebration of aquatic arts, going beyond standard lanes to include mesmerizing synchronized swimmers, a diving showcase, and a beautiful choir performance that set the tone for the day.
The races themselves were nail-biting, but what stood out most was how our children represented the culture of swimming at BNIS. They displayed fair competition, true sportsmanship, and visible enjoyment throughout the morning.

On Wednesday, the spotlight shifted to our Early Years and Year 1 students. This was a wonderful opportunity for our youngest swimmers to demonstrate to their parents and guardians just how much they have learned in their lessons. The pool deck was full of cheers as the children showed off their aquatic skills, ranging from strong flutter kicks and brave jumps to underwater toy retrieval.

The excitement wasn't limited to the students! Parents and teachers were not left out, with both days featuring a Parents' and Teachers' race. And boy, can they swim! It was fantastic to see the adults setting such a great example for the children by jumping in and competing.
This opening ceremony was filled with eagerness and excitement, officially welcoming a new era of sports at Braeburn Nanyuki. This gala is just the first of many more events to come in our fantastic new pool. Well done to all our swimmers!
