Mastering Hurdling

29th September 2023

This week in Physical Education, our young athletes embarked on an incredible journey – one that went beyond just sporting achievements. As they learned the art of jumping over hurdles, they discovered invaluable life lessons that will shape them into resilient and successful individuals. Our children dedicated themselves to mastering the art of hurdling with unwavering determination. Through this process, they learned that success is not merely a destination but a journey of continuous improvement.

Our budding athletes discovered the connection of previously taught skills and how they apply not only on the field but also in life's challenges. They were able to apply essential components of physical fitness: agility, balance, and coordination. We watched in awe as our young athletes displayed exceptional courage. While attempting their jumps, some stumbled and fell but what truly impressed us was their resilience. They picked themselves up, brushed off the dust, and tackled the hurdle once more. These are lessons that will serve them in facing any obstacle life throws their way. They learnt that hurdles aren't barriers; they are goals waiting to be conquered. Even if progress was measured by mere inches, they realised its significance in building confidence and mastering their technique.
