7th November 2025
Our students showed off their impressive problem-solving skills and teamwork at the annual IAPS Maths Challenge, hosted by Kenton College in Nairobi this past Thursday, November 6th.
A total of nine schools competed and our dedicated students represented our school with pride across three age categories. We fielded three dynamic teams of two students each, competing in the Under 9, Under 11, and Under 13 divisions.
The Challenge
The competition put the students through their paces across three distinct and challenging rounds:

Our students showed real determination and skill throughout the competition. After a full day of challenging rounds, we’re proud to share some excellent results:
Overall School Placement: The team placed 4th out of nine schools—an impressive achievement.
Age Group Success: The Under 11 team performed brilliantly, securing 2nd place in their category.

The maths challenge wasn't just about equations; it was also a wonderful experience for building camaraderie and independence. Our teams travelled down on Wednesday afternoon and were kindly hosted overnight by Braeburn Garden Estate school. A hearty breakfast ensured they were fuelled up and ready for the day of competition.
Breaks between the high-pressure challenges allowed the students to refuel with snacks and drinks before tackling the next set of problems. Following the final puzzle, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved lunch provided by Kenton College before beginning the journey back to Nanyuki.
We are incredibly proud of all the students who represented our school. Their enthusiasm, competitive spirit and commitment to mathematical excellence made this event a resounding success!
