Maths Made Fun

21st November 2024

This term, Year 3 children have explored the world of numbers, starting with the digits 0-9 and building their understanding of place value. Through hands-on activities, they’ve learned how numbers group into ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands. The children have been amazed by the “magic” of numbers as they explore addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.

We focused on place value, addition, and subtraction using practical activities and group work. Tools like counters and number lines have helped children solve problems and explain their thinking with confidence. Peer teaching has been especially effective, with children sharing strategies and supporting each other in their learning.
