New Faces

4th September 2021

We have been delighted to welcome new staff across the school this year: Ms Mutungu (FS1 teaching assistant), Mrs Armbrust (FS1 teacher), Ms Njeri (FS2 teaching assistant), Mrs Awili (EYFS lead and FS2 teacher), Ms Gichuhi (Y1 teaching assistant), Miss Harris (Y2 teacher), Miss Otieno (Y3 teacher), Mrs Mokua (Y4 teacher), Mr McHugh (Y5 teacher), Mr Sitati (Inclusion Assistant), Miss Mucharie (Music teacher), Ms Mucharia (Sports teacher), Alfred Chege (driver) and Mr Simiyu (ICT support).

An incredibly long list, with a lot of names and faces for everyone to remember! Everyone is already feeling at home with us at BNIS and have already slotted into being part of the family.

Although this week has been incredibly busy, a few of our new staff were able to answer some very important questions to help us get to know them:

If you could live anywhere in the World, where would it be and why?

Mrs. Awili: Scotland, for the amazing scenery, mountains and unspoilt beaches.

Mrs. Armbrust: Honestly if I could live anywhere in the world it would be Kenya. I have lived in London, in Germany, in France, in Mozambique and in Tanzania and I always wanted to get back to Kenya. And now I’m here I can’t think of anywhere I would rather be.

If you were stuck on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would you bring and why?

Mr McHugh: A gadget containing my favourite music because I'd miss music tooooo much, a well-stocked first aid kit to help if I became injured, a telescope to look for help to be rescued.

If you could meet one famous person (real or fictional) who would it be and why?

Miss. Mucharie: Mo Kheir (Elsa Majimbo's manager)- to understand how he strategises for life and business.

If you were an animal, what animal would you be and why?

Mr. Sitati: I would like to be a whale as I could be wise.

Ms. Njeri: I would be a dog as they are loyal and friendly.

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?

Miss Harris: If I could choose one superpower, it would be to travel to anywhere I wanted with a click of my fingers. It would mean that I could make the most out of my life, enjoying my job in one country and still being able to visit my family in another country and spending the weekend on a tropical island all in one week. (Give me a book and some sun and I am a happy camper!)
