New School Year = New Staff

30th August 2024

This year we have welcomed some new staff to the BNIS team.

Mr Dutton joins us as Assistant Headteacher; he has been working at Braeburn Garden Estate as their Primary Sports Lead for the past few years and, before that, he was at Braeburn Mombasa. He trained as a secondary Science Teacher and his own interest in sport has led him to become skilled in this area. He will be teaching Y7/8 Science alongside Mr Mulongo as well as the Y7/8 Computing lessons. He will also join in sports lessons as and when needed and no doubt get himself involved in some team training as well.

Miss Kurui joins us as a Teaching Assistant. She worked at Pembroke last year and we are in no doubt that her help will be invaluable in the Year 5 class this year.

Mr Okangi is joining us as an Inclusion Support Assistant and he will be based in Year 2. He has lots of experience, particularly in helping children with additional needs, and we are sure he will bring with him lots of great ideas from his last job which was at Mirema School in Nairobi.

Nurse Mercy has joined us to tend to the medical and health needs across the school. She has most recently been providing locum and maternity nursing cover at Hillcrest School so she is already a member of the Braeburn family.

BNIS is a special place to be and we hope they all enjoy being part of the staff family.
