Off to Lewa

24th September 2021

On Wednesday of this week, children in Years 3 and 4 were lucky enough to take a trip to Lewa Wildlife Conservancy - on World Rhino Day, nonetheless!

Children saw lots of wildlife, including elephants, white rhino, black rhino, grant's gazelle, ostrich, dikdik, giraffe, impala, oryx, baboon, eeland, vervet monkey and waterbuck.

They went to the hand-axe site, where everyone was very excited to see tools used from millions of years ago and the skulls of our human ancestors who used them. This helped bring to life what students had been learning in class about how man evolved, from proconsul to homo sapiens.

After a long day, everyone made it back to school in one piece, with more knowledge in their brains and dust in their clothes.
