After climbing Mount Kenya, Year 8 has been creating mountain-themed art. In Art, they looked at famous pieces created in a range of media depicting mountains. They also learnt about how a range of different creatives have been inspired by nature, including Dr Seuss, who wrote his book The Lorax while on holiday in Kenya.
The students then created their own mountain landscape paintings inspired by their trip and by the illustrations of Sandra Dieckmann in her book Waiting for Wolf. They used a variety of media, including pencils, watercolours, oil pastels, chalk pastels and felt tips to achieve different effects.
