Poetry in Year 5

The Year 5s have been learning about figurative language. This week we focussed on similes and metaphors. The students finished the week by writing a Fingerprint Poem. We had a class discussion on what we see in our fingerprints and then they created their own similes and metaphors for comparisons. Just to make it even more exciting, they were able to add in some colourful fingerprints to their final poem.
