Rapunzel

20th June 2024

This past week, BNIS was treated to the EYFS performance of ‘Rapunzel’. Every week as of late, the EYFS children could be seen trotting across to the Podo Theatre as they prepared for their performance....needless to say, all their rehearsals paid off.

Before the start, the theatre was abuzz with excitement - parents, siblings and some grandparents could be seen sitting in the audience waiting patiently to see the children shine. The children then entered the stage confidently, putting smiles on faces all round.

The show was a hit, and full of surprising characters as this version of 'Rapunzel' had two witches and singing blueberries. Lines were delivered with energy and teamwork by all the young performers.

The prince's presence could not be ignored as he galloped around on his horse majestically. Rapunzel dazzled the audience with her beautiful solo singing. The trees and the vegetables were fantastic, and our Creche children in particular made many proud by sitting, standing, singing, and dancing throughout the show.

The songs and actions that went along with the story line were delivered beautifully and the audience could be seen tapping their feet and bobbing along to the tunes.

The set was beautifully designed by Mrs Bebbington and created a wonderful backdrop for this delightful performance. The play would not have been the success it was without the support of parents and guardians. They actively participated by assisting with costumes and helping the children to learn their lines. Thank you!

The children should be so proud of themselves as the courage it takes to stand up in front of the whole school is commendable.
