Recycling

10th June 2021

Our first half of term Science topic in Year 2 was about materials. The children revised the names of everyday materials and then they compared the suitability of different everyday materials for different purposes. They explored how objects made of some everyday materials can change shape. We discussed how the recycling process can reuse some of the everyday materials instead of trashing them as they have a negative effect on our environment. Towards the end of the topic, as a challenge, the children were asked to look for used materials around their homes that they could recycle. They were also asked to be creative and come up with a new product from the recycled materials. We celebrate the children’s creativity in their projects. Here are some of their ideas.
