9th October 2025
What a show! On Thursday 9th October, the Podo Theatre came alive with laughter, music, and mischief as Years 5 and 6 took to the stage for their brilliant production of Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies. After a sneak preview performance for the rest of the school on Tuesday, the pupils wowed parents and upper school audiences (Years 7 and 8) with their energy, confidence, and comic flair.
The story whisked us away to medieval England, where Robin Hood and his band of merry misfits outwitted the dastardly Sheriff of Nottingham in a riotous adventure full of songs, sword fights, and slapstick! From the opening number to the final curtain, the children’s enthusiasm shone through.
Highlights included the hilarious “Squisher” scene, toe-tapping songs, slick choreography, and some truly fantastic costumes that brought Sherwood Forest to life. Every pupil — from cheeky outlaws to bumbling guards — played their part with gusto and good humour.
It’s hard to believe that just five weeks ago, the children were auditioning for their roles. Since then, they’ve worked tirelessly to learn lines, perfect dance routines, and rehearse scenes — often squeezing in practice around a very busy school schedule. Their hard work and teamwork paid off spectacularly in two fun-filled performances that left the audience cheering for more.
A huge congratulations to all of our talented performers, backstage crew, and staff who helped make Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies such a memorable success!
