Scouts in the Wild

25th April 2024

BNIS Scouts had an amazing camping expedition near Lolldaiga Conservancy, immersing themselves in nature's heart. Their adventure was filled with laughter and excitement throughout.

They were fortunate enough to set up camp at a stunning site near a river, all thanks to the generosity of Tracey White for use of the land. Tents were pitched with good skills and attitudes.

After shelters were established, the children worked together to collect the right type of firewood, to fetch water for keeping camp and hands clean, and to light a fire fit for, well, BNIS Scouts of course. A nature walk was an enjoyable feature of the evening before tucking into some well-earned dinner.

After a hearty meal, they gathered under the starlit sky for the evening entertainment. From lively games to roasting marshmallows, the children enjoyed connecting with each other in this unique setting. As night fell, they marvelled at the stars and shared stories before drifing off to sleep in dry tents.

As dawn broke, the new day was welcomed with energy and enthusiasm. A bush breakfast was relished before cleaning up the campsite before heading back to school. This was a proud moment for the team as they are very committed to environmental stewardship. They arrived back in school just in time for end of term celebrations. Well done, BNIS Scouts!
