The Under 9 boys recently took part in the annual KAISSO U9 Rugby Tournament held at Braeburn Imani. Despite this being their first rugby match ever, our boys showcased remarkable courage and enthusiasm.

Drawn into a tough group that included strong contenders such as Nairobi Academy, NIS, Brookhouse and, tournament winners, Braeside, our boys faced a challenging test right from the start, but in true BNIS spirit, they rose to the occasion, demonstrating admirable determination and teamwork on the field.

While our boys did not manage to advance to the next round, they did manage to score several impressive tries throughout the tournament, which just shows their dedication and hard work during training sessions leading up to the event. A big congratulations to those Under 9 boys.

The Under 9 girls' team took part in the recent KAISSO Under 9 Netball Tournament also held at Braeburn Imani. Despite not having the opportunity to play any competitive practice matches beforehand, our girls displayed exceptional skills and determination, making us incredibly proud of their performance.

The girls managed to find time amidst the netball playing to do some frog hunting! There also might have been some cricket catching! Who knew insect hunting and netball went so well together.

Even though the BNIS girls were one of the youngest teams at the tournament, they showed incredible resilience and adaptability. They faced older and taller opponents, but rose to the challenge with a commendable spirit and returned with massive smiles on their faces. A huge well done to those children that took part.

U13 Boys Rugby at Brookhouse

Our U13 Rugby team recently represented our school in the highly competitive KAISSO Rugby tournament at Brookhouse Runda. The team was met with a challenge as they were short 5 players, but fortunately, Braeburn Imani were also short players, which allowed the boys to combine and create a formidable team - a very exciting twist.

Despite the boys from either schools not having practised together before, this collaboration proved to be a winning formula. They managed to integrate their skills and worked cohesively even though they had only just met. As the tournament commenced, the boys demonstrated an exceptional display of talent and dedication allowing them to progress through the group stages, leaving their opponents and spectators astounded.

Their winning streak continued into the semi-finals, where they faced a tough match. It was a closely fought ‘battle’, but our team's resilience and tenacity shone through, propelling them to a hard-earned victory. The sheer excitement was palpable as they realised they had secured a spot in the highly anticipated finals.

In the finals, our boys left everything on the field. Their skills were on full display as they displayed exceptional sportsmanship and gave their all, leaving no room for regrets. While they may have finished in second place, their performance spoke volumes about their teamwork and determination. Go BNIS!

This past weekend, the U13 girls had a weekend filled with pivoting, passes and shooting at the KAISSO Netball Tournament held at Oshwal Academy in Nairobi. The girls had the great opportunity to display their skills, talents and sportsmanship at this event that hosted about 14 schools that were battling it out to come top of the tournament. Although they didn't advance past the group stages, it's important to acknowledge the progress they made in each game. Well done, girls for making BNIS proud!
