Stepping Up to the Equation

On November 7th, our school participated in the Maths Challenge competition for the very first time. Hosted at Kenton College in Nairobi, the event brought together students from ten schools for a day brimming with mathematical excitement and problem-solving.
Our team comprised 24 children, with four children representing each class from Year 3 to Year 8. This was an incredible opportunity for them to step out of their comfort zones, test their skills, and engage in teamwork.
The competition was held in a bustling hall filled with the enthusiastic buzz of countless groups working on challenging calculations. The atmosphere was electric, but also, at times, chaotic, as frustration mingled with determination. Despite the noise and occasional moments of struggle, our children embraced the challenge with courage and perseverance.
It was heartwarming to see their excitement, resilience, and ability to adapt in such a competitive setting. While this was our first outing to such an event, we are immensely proud of their effort and how they represented our school.
