The Music department has had a bustling term, starting with the vibrant Year 5/6 production of "Ali Baba and the Bongo Bandits." The energetic renditions of songs and choreography were met with enthusiasm, providing an enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
A highlight of the term was the visit from musician and environmental enthusiast, Emma Schaefer, just days before the tree planting holiday. Year 5 and a Year 4 group engaged in discussions and song sessions cantered around rivers and trees, fostering a deeper understanding of environmental importance. The children shared stories and reflected on the significance of preserving our environment for the future.
In Year 3, students combined poetry with music, incorporating instrumental elements and body percussion into the poems they learnt during Poetry Week.
Meanwhile, Year 4 delved into the world of instrument classification, categorising them into idiophones, membranophones, aerophones, and chordophones. They also explored producing various qualities of sound from each instrument, following classical music percussion directions.
Across the term we have enjoyed a wide plethora of solo and duo musical performances in assemblies and we are now readying ourselves to be blown away by the talent on show during this years Braeburn's Got Talent competition!
