Teaching Swimming on Land!

22nd April 2021

The strangest bit of our current remote learning timetable has to be the swimming lessons - how on earth do you teach swimming remotely, and on land?

The sports team have created drills that the children are challenged to do at home. The drills are done on land and help to develop their body alignment, kicking and pulling techniques. Years 1, 2 and 3 are learning and developing their freestyle stroke mechanism, whilst Years 4- 8 are developing their butterfly stroke and technique. There was lots of fun and laughter this week whilst children flipped and flopped around, looking a bit like 'fish out of water'!. Everyone is definitely enjoying this part of the RTL timetable.
