Team Tactics

3rd November 2019

Our Under 11 boys travelled to Nairobi to play in the annual St Christopher’s football tournament on Saturday 2nd November.

The team got off to a good start playing Braeburn Garden Estate with some good passing coming from our midfield.  Unfortunately, this was not enough as a goal late in the game from Garden Estate left them the winners.

Our second game was against Brookhouse. Our team showed improvements with their tackling and passing and we were delighted when the game ended in a draw.

Our third game was against Premier Academy who had a very strong attack.  It definitely presented a challenge for our boys but the defensive of Luca and John at the back to hold off many attempts at goal.  Premier scored the first goal of the game but Josh equalised a few minutes later, scoring from a penalty. The opposition then went heavily on the attack and we, unfortunately, conceded a late penalty. The game was a well-fought effort, ending 2-1 to Premier.

The last game of the tournament for us was against Nairobi Academy.  They had not lost a game all tournament so we're a tough team to take on. Our boys were very tired after the efforts they had already put in during the day and the game ended 3-0 to Nairobi Academy.

Overall the boys played extremely well and showed off their development from last year, particularly in defence. Well done team - Callum, Luca, John, Sam, Billy, Niraj , Hawi, Dylan and Josh - we are very proud of all of you!
