The Scouts embarked on an exciting camping adventure to St Andrew’s Turi, accompanied by their leaders Mrs. Visile, Mr. Okangi, and Ms. Naomi. The five-hour journey was filled with joy, wildlife sightings, and scenic views, with stopovers for snacks and breaks. Upon arrival, they were greeted by Scouts from 15 other international schools, making the event larger and more exciting than anticipated. As tents were set up, new friendships blossomed, and the evening concluded with laughter, stories, and a bonfire.
The camp officially began with a grand opening ceremony at Baden Powell Hall, where the Scouts marched in full uniform to the sound of a live band and raised their flag proudly. The following day they participated in a variety of activities, from survival skills and orienteering to boating and archery. Despite some rain, their spirits remained high as they engaged in team-building exercises and explored new skills, all while wearing their red and yellow camp gear.
On the final day the Scouts prepared for the closing ceremony, which included a formal march led by a band and a speech by the guest of honour, who spoke about the ABCDs of scouting. The ceremony concluded with the lowering of flags, marking the end of a memorable and enriching experience for all participants.
