Our journey to the KAIS Annual Verse Speaking Competition at Nairobi Academy concluded recently, was a resounding success that filled us all with pride. The road to the competition began late last year. After a series of spirited auditions, five talented children were selected to represent our school. They didn't just memorise lines; they dedicated themselves to the art of performance. For weeks, they worked tirelessly to perfect their rhythm, intonation, and stage presence.
Before the nerves of the big day set in, we headed down to Nairobi. It wasn’t all work and no play! The children enjoyed a lovely evening together, including a "home away from home" movie night, complete with plenty of snacks, matching the fun their schoolmates were having back at home.
When the big day finally arrived, our children were ready. The competition was incredibly stiff, featuring some of the best young orators, but our representatives were more than up to the task.
Each child took their position on the stage with unshakeable confidence, vibrant expression and exceptional poise. A big well done to all the participants. It takes immense courage to stand alone on a stage and share a piece of literature so publicly!
