Watch Us Grow

15th May 2025

This week in FS1, we started learning about planting and growing. The children were very curious as they looked at different kinds of seeds; some big, some small, some round, and some with funny shapes!

We talked about the parts of a plant and learned new words like root, stem, leaf, and flower. We also found out what plants need to grow - water, sunlight, soil, and care.

Our gardening project began with lots of fun and teamwork. The children got their hands dirty as they helped clear and prepare the class garden. Together, we planted carrots, coriander, beans, and tomatoes.

You can keep this learning going at home by planting a seed together. You can use your garden, an old pair of boots, a Ziplock bag, or even a sunny windowsill. It’s a great way to help children learn about patience, care, and the magic of nature.
