Yesterday BNIS waved down the chequered flag on our last ever Bike Days!
Across the week the whole school had the opportunity to face the course. Ramps, bumps, wild turns and of course plenty of mud were just a few of the exciting elements of the course with a shorter and smoother course for our less confident riders.
The week has been buzzing with cycling action, EYFS started on Wednesday showcasing their courage and tenacity as they navigated the course on a range of different bikes from balance bikes to tricycles to ‘grown up’ bikes! Whatever their method the children had a blast!
On Thursday and Friday our older children took to the course, getting muddy, slipping, sliding and racing were the order of the day. Using play times and lunchtimes to whizz around the outdoor track, we were also able to test out the new roof above the tennis courts which made for a great indoor course. Pedal power was aplenty and the children were reminded of the joy and physical benefits of cycling!
FANS geared into action and put together an excellent FANS Family Fun Friday. Thank you to all parents who donated delicious cakes and manned the stalls. Great music, food, drinks, a book sale and bouncy castle made for an excellent event. It was a superb last edition of the cycling event but the continuation of BNIS culture of community, which is the cornerstone of all events and activities and hopefully the start of new traditions. Let’s keep riding!
