On Wednesday, seven of our keen young golfers headed to Hillcrest for a putting, chipping, and pitching competition. It was more than a test of skill; it was a quiet display of patience, focus, and composure.
Each challenge demanded something unique: putting called for steady precision, chipping required delicate control, and pitching needed technical finesse. These weren't just golf skills; they were life lessons wrapped in turf and tension.
The children displayed impressive sportsmanship, cheering each other on and sharing advice between rounds. While golf is often an individual game, it was clear that community and encouragement played a significant role in shaping the day.
Funny how, in a competition that demands silence and accuracy, you could still hear players quietly talking to their golf balls, chanting things like “sit,” “stay,” or “please roll in!” It became a charming soundtrack to the event, reminding us all of golf’s peculiar customs.
We’re proud of their focus and calm under pressure. Beyond the scorecards, this was a chance to sharpen their technique, tune their mindset, and embrace the peaceful challenge that golf brings.
