Who's Your Mummy?

10th May 2023

The Year 3s and 4s are now fully involved in rehearsals for their upcoming production, ‘Who’s Your Mummy?’

The play focusses on Verity and Reginald’s school trip to the British Museum, which takes an unexpected turn when two mummies awake from a very, very long sleep. Friendly and inquisitive, but permanently tongue-tied, the mummies latch onto the shocked children, eager for their help. But with the police on their trail and time of the essence, can the school children unravel the mystery of the mummies and their fascinating history?

With all children playing a role, everyone has been busy learning their lines and actions, as well as the many songs that will accompany their ‘mumtastic’ performance.

It’s encouraging to see our budding actors begin to express themselves as they overcome their nerves and present the varying personalities of the different characters. There has also been lots of impromptu singing in lessons, line-ups and on school buses! One of the Wednesday clubs was treated to a small performance from the Year 3 girls.

We can’t wait for the final performance, which will be in the Podo Theatre later on in the term.
